OGP (Organic Growth Promotant)NUTRIENTS FROM THE SEA – THE DOCTOR OF HEALTHY SOIL
NEW IMPROVED FORMULA – OGP (Organic Growth Promotant) Liquid Fish Fertiliser is one of the most complex and complete biological / organic fertilisers produced in New Zealand. Biologically active soils have an increased ability to capture and retain moisture ensuring better/stronger plant growth. To build a healthy biological soil, we need products that can feed living organisms in the soil. Chemical fertilisers, used over the last 50 years or so, do make plants grow and produce crops, but they do not have the ability to stimulate and feed soil biology. Increasing public awareness of the environmental impact of using chemical-based fertiliser has created a demand for safe, natural and environmentally friendly fertilisers. Chemical fertilisers make plants grow; they do not grow the soil. Biological fertilisers increase nutrient availability in soils and feed important soil organisms, such as nematodes, earthworms and micro-organisms all essential for overall plant and soil health. Biology is essential for the recycling of nutrients and the fixing of atmospheric nitrogen. This greatly reduces the need for urea/nitrogen fertiliser. This is of particular interest/concern for dairy farmers as calcium and magnesium increase clover growth. They provide greater palatability of clover and dry matter, resulting in improved animal health, improved fertility, increased growth and increased milk yield. The enzymatic hydrolysis of fish proteins at low temperature means greater nutrient and biological recovery in OGP, thereby ensuring more immediate microbial activity within the soil structure when applied. Low temperature enzymatic digestion of fish proteins gives us the ability to recovery all the naturally occurring proteins, oils, trace elements, amino acids and minerals that are required for true plant growth. During the manufacture of OGP the whole fish, including fish oils, fish proteins, calcium and phosphate from the bone is recovered, thus allowing both Omega 3 and Omega 6 as well as calcium and phosphate to be available to plants and soil biology, ensuring healthier soils and stronger plants, this will lead to far greater immunity to pests and disease pressure.
