Scoria is a highly suitable media for hydroponic application.  Scoria is a stable material which can be used in plant production for several years without breakdown in its physical structure or influence on pH.  Scoria is an all natural product which can be returned to the environment after cropping with no environmental concerns.  Scoria can be mixed with other medias to increase the air filled porosity.
