Calibration Solutions

Calibration solutions are a very necessary part of a growers toolbox.  We use solutions which are manufactured specific to the calibration process and referenced to high class laboratory standards.  Calibration solutions are required for the calibration of pH meters, pH monitors and controllers. pH measuring equipment must be cleaned and calibrated very regularly to ensure they are giving the user accurate readings. The pH reading is only as accurate as the probe is clean and calibrated.

Many EC/CF meters cannot be calibrated, as they are factory calibrated, however the HM EC COM-100 meter can be calibrated. The CF27.7 solution is used as a reference to ensure you have adequately cleaned the EC/CF probe or to calibrate the instrument.

Calibration Solutions should be stored in a cool place out of direct sun and heat. Please keep out of reach of children. They should be stored with the lids securely tightened.

Contamination between solutions can easily occur, which will affect the validity of the calibration. Sutol recommends that the solutions are de-cantered into a smaller vessel and the contents discarded when the calibration process has been completed.
