EPA's assessment of OP's and Carbamates
EPA (New Zealand's Environmental Protection Agency, formally ERMA) is reassessing all the organophosphates and carbamates used in New Zealand for plant protection to see whether or not they should continue to be available for continued use by either commercial growers and home gardeners.
In preparation for the reassessment next year, EPA are calling for information on the proposed scope of the reassessment, initial risk assessments and possible additional controls. The deadline for feedback is 30th November 2011. See the EPA website for more information about the reassessment of the organophosphates and carbamates by clicking here.
